Dr Nathan James Crane is a multi-disciplinary creative whose fascination with beauty and materiality began in childhood, collecting shells, rocks, and crystals. With over 14 years of experience in design and education, he has cultivated a deep appreciation for the transformative power of good design and its ability to bring joy to others.

Currently serving as the Board Chair for the South Australian Fashion Industry Association (SAFIA), Nathan is dedicated to championing innovation and excellence in the local fashion community. Additionally, he is a proud member of the National Advisory Committee for the Design Institute of Australia and Chair of the SA/NT State Council, where he actively contributes to shaping the future of design education and practice nationwide.

Tracey Bryans

Tracey Bryans working career has been predominantly in the business environment, starting out in accounting firms before starting her own consulting firm and then embarking on a new career in Australia’s thriving style and image industry through studying at the Australian Style Institute in both personal and editorial styling.  Tracey is excited to be a Board member of SAFIA to share her wealth of knowledge and experience to assist SAFIA in bringing all aspects of the South Australian fashion industry together.

Michelle Liew

Michelle is a a CPA and finance professional with over 15 years of experience in strategic financial management, budgeting, financial analysis and reporting. She has held a number of senior finance positions in the retail, not-for-profit and banking sectors.

Having worked at MECCA, Oxfam Shop, Say Cheese and Acler, Michelle is passionate about the beauty, cosmetics, fair trade, fashion and food industries.

Michelle is excited about joining SAFIA as Treasurer and supporting South Australian businesses in their growth and success.

Stacey Pallaras

Publisher – Cocktail Revolution

Stacey Pallaras, BA, Dip Ed, M.Com is the publisher of Cocktail Revolution, an award winning  digital fashion platform which ranks #3 on the world wide web for street fashion. 

Stacey’s interstate and international career includes senior positions in the corporate, government, not-for-profit and small business sectors. Her international experience includes working with clients such as  American Express, Marriott Hotels, Intercontinental Hotels, Matsuzakaya, Motorola, China Light and Power, Sun Hung Kai Properties and William Grant Scotch Whisky. Commissioned to design management courses for the Hong Kong Department of Labour and Hong Kong University, she was also  involved in the national roll-out adopting Equal Opportunity Legislation in Australia.

More recently, Stacey headed up community broadcasters Twin Cities 89.7, where she was instrumental in securing their permanent broadcasting licence and Fresh 92.7.

Luke practises in the areas of corporate and commercial law, with a particular focus on intellectual property law and brand protection, technology law, media and entertainment law, privacy and data protection law, franchising and consumer protection.

Luke manages trade mark portfolios for large corporate clients and helps to protect their brands in Australia and throughout the world in all key markets. He has specific expertise in negotiating and drafting a wide range of commercial documents, including licensing agreements, distribution agreements and technology transfers. Luke also prepares and advises upon privacy policies and data management procedures.

Luke has been named as the Intellectual Property Law “Lawyer of the Year” for Adelaide in the 2025 and 2022 editions of Best Lawyers™ Australia. Yasmine is an experienced Executive and Business owner in South Australia. She currently owns and manages 3 Consultancy businesses as well as she works as an advisor to Boards and Executives in her current role.

Yasmine started her career in retail and women’s fashion and still has a real love for fashion (just see her wardrobe). She is passionate about South Australia and building better companies and drives this ethos with her teams and the community.

Her journey traverses both in-house roles and collaborations with respected wholesale agencies both in the UK and Australia, offering a comprehensive understanding of the industry’s nuances and demands.

Her UK portfolio boasted collaborations with iconic names such as Victoria Beckham, Bella Freud, Petar Petrov, and Être Cécile, elevating her status as a reliable partner in luxury brand management.

Now based in Australia, Kate has transitioned into a role as a freelance wholesale consultant, extending her expertise to empower Australian brands in scaling their operations to global standards.

Passionate about local brands, Kate works closely with esteemed South Australian labels including Acler, Significant Other, Aston Studio, and House of Campbell, offering strategic insights and tailored solutions to drive sustainable growth and market expansion.

Abby Potter brings over 15 years of experience to the fashion industry, where she is dedicated to creating narrative-driven fashion and cultivating a culture of creativity, diversity, and inclusivity. Her extensive career spans roles in design, quality assurance, and production across ready-to-wear, bridal, and costume segments for leading Australian companies. A passionate advocate for the local industry, Abby is at the forefront of promoting innovative and sustainable practices. Her work has been featured in prestigious publications such as British Vogue, Marie Claire, and Harper’s Bazaar, and she has showcased her collections at major events including New York Fashion Week, Australian Fashion Week, and Paris Fashion Week. In 2024, Abby was honored with the Australian Fashion Week Next Gen prize.
