Showcasing South Australia’s Circular Fashion Future

The SAFIA x City of Adelaide ART POD Residency is designed to spotlight South Australia’s leadership in sustainable and circular fashion. Across three months in April to June 2026, three local fashion and textile brands will transform the ART POD at 25 Pirie Street into vibrant, live creative studios, spaces where the public can witness circular design principles in action, engage with designers, and experience the future of fashion innovation up close.

Proudly supported by Circular Adelaide, and City of Adelaide, the program forms part of SAFIA’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the local fashion ecosystem, particularly in areas of sustainability, circularity, and local manufacturing. Each residency showcases a different brand, highlighting their material practices, design processes, and sustainability ethos while inviting audiences to learn, participate, and rethink how fashion is made, valued, and kept in circulation. As outlined in the Information Pack, the activation is structured to amplify circular innovation, promote local making, deepen public understanding of circular design, and celebrate the talent of South Australian designers.

Glass-fronted and viewable 24/7, ART POD is CBD-based platform dedicated to showcasing creative talent and inspiring public engagement with the arts. The space is designed to surprise and delight audiences with ongoing creative activity including workshops, demonstrations, capsule showcases, and community-facing conversations.

Successful applicants will receive a $2,000 honorarium for a dedicated one-month residency, support in delivering a public engagement activity, and promotional support across SAFIA’s network. This residency is an invitation to articulate your sustainability story, activate your creative practice in a new way, and contribute to a collective vision positioning South Australia at the forefront of circular fashion.

Applicants are encouraged to download the full Information Pack and view the ART POD floor plan and Selection Criteria below. These documents outline the residency structure, expectations, assessment criteria, and practical details to help shape strong, well-prepared EOIs.
